Loy Krathong at school

We also celebrated Loy Krathong at school. Kids wore traditional clothes and prepared their own krathong: a slice of banana trunk for the base surrounded by flowers, candles and banana leaves.

The important moment: the floating of the krathong.

Maelle's first krathong:
And for those who want to know more: a little official video:

More Loy Krathong

Posted by PicasaLoy means float
Khratong is the name of this little "boat" made out of banana leaves and decorated with all type of flowers.
This festival is one of the most important ones in Thailand.
It is way to apologize to the river for using its water and spoiling it.
The floating Khratong pushed away from the river bank is supposed to take away all our mistakes and bad actions to help us make a fresh start.

Waterfall - Phuket

Close to the end of our trip to Phuket: the tropical forest and waterfall.
Nice place where you can swim in the river. Quite popular for the locals...

Koh Panyee - Boat tour part II

Koh Panyee is a remarkable village, the whole of it built out over water on stilts and with a giant rock monolith guarding its rear.

Excellent place for the lunch break. Even if it's quite touristic place now.
If you go on the back side of the city, we can really visit the fisherman village and can imagine how life in Koh Panyee could be once all the tourists are gone.

James Bond Island

Are you ready for a long tail boat tour...
Quite noisy and humid... but very good moment
Among the differents site we visited (more to come...), we stop by James Bond Island... Do you remember which 007 movie?
Quite an impressive rock in the middle of the water.
